You can see how you can optimize for bing by comparing and analyzing your results in the BING search engine.
We at Seo Bing.info have carried out a study where a search term is used in BING as well as GOOGLE and then the results are analyzed.
A. Search a term in Google search engine.
B. Search the same term in Bing Decision engine.
C. Analyse both the results.
D. Study the results and find the answers.
E. (OPTIONAL) Check for yourself what the results say :
1) The search term used : SEO Bing
Results : Google - Favors blogspot and keyword in search term. First is seobing.net and 5th is SeoBing.info
WhereAs…
Bing favors ezinearticles.com (2 results in top 10), forums and does not have keyword in domain in top 50 results (Which means no seobing.com no seobing.net nor seobing.info).
Funny 
: Bing.com itself does not come in top 50 results on it’s search engine with that search term but comes in top 10 on google(12th now).
2) Seach term : rank booster
Results : Google shows http://www.rankbooster.info as the third results (A .info domain)
WhereAs…
Bing shows only one .info domain in the top 50 SERPS and that too doesnt have the keyword in the domain. The .info domain is Google-ranking.info. All top 50 domains are either .com/.net/.org
3) Search term : forex how to
Results : Google shows forexhowto.net and forexhowto.com in top rankings whereas these two sites are nowehere on Bing.
Strangely Bing shows forex.dj as the 12th ranked site ?!
For Google : Interesting thing to note is that search term “seo bing” made on google shows .net and .info rank higher than .com with keywords in domain. This means .com is not always the king
For Bing : Other Interesting point to note is Bing is ranking many tlds like not only the ..net and .org ones but also randoms like .cc and .name above some good .coms which Google does not.
Note : We also found that Bing does not have problem in ranking really-long-and-filled-up-domains.com with a dash in its rankings unlike Google.more information and seo analysis on Bing coming soon…

Here are some tips for Bing search engine optimization.
Tip 1 : USE Head tag - All previous assumptions that Meta tags and Head content are no longer important for SEO are all WRONG. A recent article at Bing.com gave away the tip :
“The content of the <head> tag (and for that matter, the document type declaration (DTD), which precedes the <body> tag in the page’s code, is just as important for search engine optimization (SEO)”
Tip 2 - Bing recommends XHTML. While doing Search engine optimization for Bing make sure you follow all rules. If you wish to rank higher then preferably use XHTML over HTML as html is labeled outdated by Bing. Also make sure you have properly validated your XHTML document as per the W3c standards.
Tip 3 - How many characters in the Title ?
Google never gave out this detail but Bing states exactly how to use the Title tag. You need to keep the text in the title tag unique on every page and keep it in between 5 and 65 characters.
Tip 4 - Meta tags optimization
- The text in meta description should be in between 25 characters and 150 characters.
- Number of characters in your keywords should be less than 874 characters
- Put your important keywords in Title and Description (important) first and then in the keywords(Secondary) list.
- Make sure your keywords dont repeat more than 4 times or it might look like spam.

SeoBing.info seems to be the first site that has been de-indexed by Bing for reasons that are still not known.
Below is response from the Microsoft team to the problem of site being de-indexed on 29th June 2009 :
1. “My name is Adam with Microsoft Global Escalations. I have been assigned to help you with your issue, and my records indicate that your webpage is not being indexed/ranked correctly through Bing.com.
I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in working with us.
I have investigated your site and at this time we are not blocking or filtering it; however, I would strongly suggest you use the robots.txt validator found at http://www.bing.com/webmaster to check your robots.txt file.
Please keep in mind that Bing.com index/ranking is an automated dynamic algorithm. As this is the case we are unable to manually force your site ranking. There are many factors that make the site ranking. The following information should help.”
2. “Beyond that I would recommend conversing with the Bing.com product engineers on the community forums located at http://www.bing.com/community/forums/default.aspx?GroupID=11. “

Some Search engine optimization (SEO) tips for Bing :
Below are some points that you need to take care of if you wish to get your site ranked high on Bing.
Make sure your website’s content matches that with your keywords.
Get more links to your site in terms of quantity as well as quality.
Use a sitemap for better indexing.
Important : Look whom you are linking to. Below is a guideline mentioned at Microsoft’s FAQ pages :
“Frequently asked questions about outbound links
Do links to unwanted websites adversely affect my Bing ranking?
Possibly. Bing looks at many factors when rating your website, and one of them is the list of webpages that you link to.”
How to know whether your site is indexed on Bing?
Simply type url:www.yoursitename.com. If you wish to find the pages from your website that are indexed on Bing then type site:www.yoursitename.com (same as Google.com)
Tip: It is important you check this because it currently shows that Bing is indexing much lesser number of pages than Google.
Solution : Create and submit a Sitemap.

Yes. Microsoft launches Bing - http://www.bing.com search engine before its release date which was supposed to be June 3rd.
Microsoft has done it :
The software giant has come up with a top notch product this time which seems to be a tough competition to Google.com search engine as far as the results are concerned.
The search engine is still is in its beta stage and output that is shown on the Bing.com results pages seem to be different from that shown on the US Bing.com search engine at http://www.bing.com/?scope=web&setmkt=en-US
See the differences in 2 images. First is the US Bing.com which has buttons for shopping and is out of the beta stage. It also shows ads and results that are different from the normal Bing.com which still shows that it is in Beta stage.
